Comparison of mask sheets:

 

• Cotton mask: Strong skin affinity, moderate essence absorption, low adherence, weak essence retention, prone to drying out and wrinkling, weak transmission capability.

 

• Silk mask: Strong skin affinity, very thin, moderate adherence and transmission capability, contains a portion of silk + plant fibres. Cannot stretch and might break if pulled. Moderate essence retention.

 

• Hydrogel mask: Made of silicone, resembles gel, requires pre-existing essence formulas, lacks breathability, hindering blood circulation.

 

• Charcoal mask: Designed with cleaning rather than absorption properties.

 

• Bio-Cellulose mask: Biodegradable, derived from coconut fermentation, strong skin affinity, elasticity, excellent absorption and essence retention. However, it might cause mould if not stored properly. Difficult for DIYs, higher cost.

 

• Chitosan mask: Contains chitosan from shellfish, offers moisturizing effects but might irritate sensitive skin. Requires acidic formulas, or it might become deformed. Paper-like feel when damp.

 

• Tencel / Lyocell mask: Derived from wood pulp, varies in quality, thin, breathable, moderate essence retention, good adherence but prone to wrinkling.

BE.ST masks allow DIY customization for different types of masks suited for different skin types. Each application should last approximately 20-30 minutes. Spray with floral water, if the mask feels dry midway.

 

Option 1: Single Mask

 

First, saturate BE.ST’s mask with floral water before applying your chosen essence onto the mask. Allow BE.ST’s mask to absorb the essence before gently placing it on your face.

 

 

Option 2: Double Mask

 

A: First, apply your chosen essence/mask to your face. Then saturate BE.ST’s mask with floral water and gently place it on top of the essence/mask. This method enhances penetration and absorption but dries faster compared to Method B.

 

B: First, saturate BE.ST’s mask with floral water and place it onto your face, then apply your chosen essence/mask directly onto the BE.ST’s mask. This method requires more time for penetration but dries slower compared to Method A.

 

Both A and B can be combined with almost the same effect; it depends on personal preference.

 

 

Option 3: Triple Mask (Recommended)

 

First, apply your chosen essence/mask to your face. Then, saturate BE.ST’s mask with floral water and place it on top of the essence/mask. Finish by applying another layer of essence/mask onto the BE.ST’s mask.

 

 

Option 4: All-in-One Mask

 

Soak BE.ST’s mask in a DIY liquid essence. If the essence has a creamier texture, pre-saturate BE.ST’s mask with floral water before soaking. Avoid creasing the mask during soaking to prevent damaging the fine fibres within the mask, lowering its effectiveness.

• While the mask can absorb most essences/masks, it is recommended to base the DIY mixtures on 1-2 brands when you first start off to avoid unnecessary skin reactions due to mixing of multiple brands. If itching or allergic reactions occur, discontinue immediately and wash off with water.

• Avoid excessive folding of the mask during soaking, as this can damage the fine fibres inside, affecting its effectiveness.

• While wood pulp fibres generally absorb most ingredients, certain cellulose components in skincare can affect the wood pulp fibres, but this does not pose any significant impact on the results.

• BE.ST’s dry mask should only be used once.

• Overnight usage is not recommended.
